Make a Difference: Volunteer with Us

Volunteer

Whether through time or women’s shelter donations, your support strengthens every aspect of the care we provide. Volunteering with Pathways allows you to make a personal and direct impact on the lives of our guests. Below, you can explore our current volunteer opportunities.

*Volunteers under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult. Pathways does not accept Court-Ordered Community Service volunteers.

Teaching Life Skills Classes

  • At Pathways, we offer a variety of life skills classes designed to provide support, education, and a sense of community. Our classes include yoga, Bible study, financial literacy, computer skills, art, and self-esteem. If you have a specific skill you'd like to share or are interested in teaching a class, please email mikesha.evans@pathwayshome.org.

Special Group Projects

  • Pathways occasionally needs groups of volunteers to help brighten our facility. This might involve painting a room, organizing in-kind donations, or cleaning up in and around the building. While we don't always have immediate needs for groups, please let us know if you're interested, and we'll keep you in mind for future projects. Due to space limitations, we can only accommodate groups of up to 8 people.

Help Us Feed Those in Need

Bring & Serve a Meal

The most impactful way for individuals and groups to engage with Pathways is by providing and serving a meal. Food must be cooked before arrival, as volunteers cannot use Pathways’ cooking equipment, but you can use our steam table to keep food warm. Plates, utensils, and drinks are available, or you can provide them.

Meal Service Opportunities

  • We invite groups to sign up on a one-time or recurring basis to provide dinner for our 55 shelter residents. Dinner opportunities are available daily, and lunch opportunities are available on weekends.

Meal Service Schedule

  • Lunch is served at 11:30 AM, with volunteers arriving by 10:45 AM. Dinner is served at 6:00 PM, with volunteers arriving by 5:15 PM. You can stay to serve plates or drop off the meal for our staff to serve. If you stay to serve, please limit the number of servers due to space constraints. We’re grateful for both the meals and the generous women’s shelter donations that help us care for our residents every day.

We prefer all donations to be sorted by item type so we can give each guest exactly what they need. Please do not prepackage toiletry items in “blessing bags.”

Pathways is unable to accept unscheduled donations. Please email us at info@pathwayshome.org to confirm that we are able to accept your items and schedule a donation drop-off time.

Unfortunately, Pathways is unable to accept donations of the following items at this time:

  • Clothing
  • Toys
  • Tampons
  • Furniture
  • Household Decor

Amazon Wishlist

One of the best ways to donate is through our Amazon Wish List. We update it on a weekly basis with urgently needed items that you can order to ship directly to Pathways.
