Safety and Support When You Need It Most

Safe Haven

Safe Haven provides permanent supportive housing for single women experiencing homelessness with severe mental illness. The program can house up to 10 women at a time, offering private bedrooms in a home-like environment. Residents receive 24-hour support, daily medication assistance, weekly case management, and transportation assistance. For those unable to live independently, Safe Haven provides a permanent home.

Support for Your Next Steps

Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones offers overnight emergency shelter to unaccompanied women and mothers with children. The program can house more than 30 women and children nightly in a residential living space.

Basic Needs and Support

Basic needs such as food, clothing, personal care items, and diapers are provided. Each guest creates an individualized case plan and meets weekly with a social worker to make progress toward their goals.

Connection to Housing and Services

The program connects guests with local rapid rehousing programs and housing voucher assistance programs to help them access permanent housing. Guests also have access to life skills, employment readiness, and financial literacy classes provided through the Day Center.

Foundations for a Bright Future

Early Learning Center

The Pathways Early Learning Center is a tuition-free, licensed childcare preschool program serving children exclusively, ages 8 weeks through 6 years whose families are experiencing homelessness. Our program is the only one of its kind in Alabama exclusively dedicated to this community.
Rooted in Montessori principles and trauma-informed practice, we meet each child exactly where they are. Through Conscious Discipline, children build resilience, develop confidence, and experience the kind of consistency and belonging every child deserves.
Our prepared environments are designed to be beautiful, calm, and purposeful — spaces where children feel safe, seen, and free to grow.
Early Learning Center Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm
